The driver of the white CRX I posted earlier has passed away in the hospital after a wreck at the local Wichita Kansas Import Face-Off. Despite taking adequate safety precautions and having a strip-prepped fully-caged car Jason Lumpkin was critically injured when his car left the drag strip during what I hear was a sub-10 second run. I hope you all had a safe weekend.

RIP to him. Always sad to see an accident this large.
My question is, who built that cage? The whole front of it is torn off but the back is still intact.

I don’t know if it’s the same car, but the video says it’s the same guy and that he’s in a CRX. All I see is a roll bar, not a cage. Also, no gloves, no balaclava, no helmet visor. The suit looks like it’s open in the front and doesn’t look like a 3 layer suit to me.

At the risk of sounding horribly insensitive...
Somebody at this track may be in deep shit.
From what I’ve read the CRX could do 9.50s at 150+. This setup would have been booted from any NHRA sanctioned drag strip I’ve ever been to.
